Il film piu' laconico che abbia mai visto: "Frank Costello faccia d'angelo"(Le Samourai), di Melville.
Un capolavoro del polar.

Pogues & Tom

Ho ricomprato su cd il grande disco dei Pogues "Rum, Sodomy and the Lash", nella versione rimasterizzata del 2004.

Nel libretto interno, una nota di Tom Waits:

Sounes & Goodis

Sto leggendo la biografia di Dylan di Howard Sounes.
Ripetutamente viene citato "Tirate sul pianista" (il film di Truffaut tratto dal romanzo di David Goodis "Down There"), in quanto molto apprezzato da Dylan.
A mio modesto avviso (ma ovviamente Sounes dovrebbe conoscere Dylan meglio di me), Dylan non ha apprezzato quel film per i paesaggi nevosi che ricordano il Minnesota, come scrive Sounes, bensi' perche' a Saroyan piace solo mettersi al piano e suonare, dimenticando tutto il resto.
Evidente in questo senso la scena in cui Saroyan torna dal suo datore di lavoro per licenziarsi, e durante il litigio si accosta al piano per suonare.
D'altra parte lo stesso Sounes cita il disinteresse di Dylan per politica e impegno sociale, nonche' la ritrosia a partecipare ad eventi "in difesa di" oppure "a favore di": l'unica cosa che gli interessava era suonare le sue canzoni e fare musica.
Sounes mi perdonera' per la precisazione.
