Statistiche relative ai primi 9 mesi del 2009 del Long War Journal (Fonte) circa gli attacchi USA in Pakistan:
1) Numero di attacchi 42 (totale 2008: 36)
2) Morti causati dagli attacchi 447 (totale 2008: 317)
3) Vittime civili 43 (totale 2008: 31)

2008 vuol dire Amministrazione Bush.
Ma allora GW e' stato piu' buono di Obama! E neanche un piccolo premio! Povero GW.

7 film per 7 giorni

Settimana cinematografica tra Chandler, Billy Wilder e i fratelli Coen.

Dedicati a Chandler:

"Marlowe indaga" (1978), con un Robert Mitchum spiegazzato nei panni di Marlowe, tratto da "Il grande sonno".
Grande intepretazione.

"Marlowe poliziotto privato" (1975), sempre con Mitchum, tratto da "Addio mia amata".
Esordio meno brillante del sequel.

"La moneta insanguinata" (1947), con George Montgomery, tratto da "La finestra sul cortile"; Marlowe - Montgomery risulta eccessivamente "perbene", senza quel tocco di sregolatezza, a parte la sigaretta perennemente tra le labbra, che rende Philip cosi' carismatico. Una curiosita': il telegramma ricevuto dalla signora Murdock e' stato "doppiato" (nell'inquadratura) in lingua taliana e risulta indirizzato a "Filippo Marlowe".


Il mitico Clint:

"Una 44 magnum per l'ispettore Callaghan" (1973), sceneggiato da Michael Cimino e John Milius (Un mercoledi' da leoni). Harry la carogna non si piega davanti a qualche tenentucolo, ne' davanti al futuro Hutch (David Soul).
Imperdibile.


Iniziata l'avventura nel mondo delle commedie di Billy Wilder:

"Non per soldi... ma per denaro" (1966), con Lemmon e Matthau.
Meno brillante de "La strana coppia" (1965, Neil Simon), ma comunque di buonissimo livello.

"Che cosa è successo tra mio padre e tua madre?" (1972), (girato a Ischia, con un giovanissimo Pippo Franco nei panni di Matarazzo, l'impiegato dell'obitorio).
Un filo melenso e lunghetto, con Wilder che forse ha perso un po' di freschezza.


I fratelli Coen.

"A serious man", alle cinema'.
Fra una decina d'anni, si dira' che e' un capolavoro assoluto.
